Bruce Almighty (PG-13)
Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey) is complaint-prone television reporter in Buffalo, New York. After a particularly bad day, he goes on a rant, blaming God for all his problems. God (Morgan Freeman), fed up with Bruce's whining, gives the reporter all His powers and challenges him to do a better job. At first Bruce uses his powers for selfish reasons, such as giving his girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston) bigger boobs. Will he learn that "with great power comes great responsibility"?

Inventing earlier versions of the characters made "famous" by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, Eric Christian Olsen as Lloyd and Derek Richardson as Harry try to prove themselves worthy of attending regular high school, rather than their special needs classes in this prequel to Dumb and Dumber.

Young clownfish Little Nemo (voice of Alexander Gould), gets kidnapped from his home in the Great Barrier Reef by fishermen and winds up in a fish tank in a dentist's office. So his father (Albert Brooks) with the help of scattered-brained fish Dory (Ellen Degeneres) sets out on a dangerous quest to rescue Nemo. Meanwhile, Nemo and some new friends are hatching escape plans of their own.

House of 1000 Corpses (R)
Techno-metal artist and first-time feature film director Rob Zombie scared Universal so bad with horror movie House that they refused to release it, so lil' Lion's Gate picked it up. It's loosely a remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, i.e., teenagers get lost in the middle of nowhere, end up in a house full of crazies, and all sorts of gross and macabre things befall them.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (PG-13)
Kate Hudson is a women's magazine columnist who has ten days to write a column about all the things women do to drive men away. Matthew McConaughey is an ad exec who bets his boss that he can make a woman fall in love with him in ten days. Two such shallow characters deserve each other, so happily, they chance to meet.

With fear of bio-terrorism at an all-time high, director Danny Boyle (Shallow Grave, Trainspotting) resurrects the zombie movie with a scare-you-out-of-your-skin flick. Jim (Cillian Murphy) wakes from a blow to his head in an empty hospital. All too quickly he learns that, 28 days ago, the Earth's human and animal populations were infected by a virus that puts the afflicted into a permanent state of killing rage. Jim meets up with a few other survivors in London and together they struggle to stay alive and uninfected—and to avoid killing each other.
