About Schmidt (R)
Jack Nicholson gives up his crotchety-but-cool persona, for once, to play a schmuck who's just plain crotchety. Driving to his daughter's wedding, the 60-something, J. Alfred Prufrock-esque Warren Schmidt realizes he's wasted his life.
Now Showing: Downtown West, Foothills 12

Agent Cody Banks (PG)
Frankie Muniz (of TV's Malcolm in the Middle) stars in a rip-off of the Spy Kids movies, which were a take-off of the James Bond movies, which were never meant to be taken seriously.
Now Showing: Wynnsong 16, Knoxville Center

Anger Management (PG-13)
Adam Sandler plays mild-mannered business flunky Dave Buznik, who is mistakenly convicted of assault and sentenced to an anger management class run by looney-toon Dr. Buddy Rydell (Jack Nicholson), whose questionable methods only serve to make Buznik really, truly angry.
Now Showing: Foothills 12, Cinemark's Tinseltown, Carmike 10, Halls Cinema 7, Farragut Towne Square, West Town Mall

Basic (R)
Samuel R. Jackson is a "legendary" army Ranger drill sergeant (uh, how does a drill sergeant, even a Ranger, achieve mythic status?) who disappears, along with a bunch of his cadets. John Travolta is a DEA agent (uh, why does a Drug Enforcement Agent care what happens to a platoon of Ranger trainees?) who investigates.
Now Showing: Wynnsong 16, Foothills 12, Knoxville Center

Bend it Like Beckham (PG-13)
Teen coming-of-age comedy focuses on an Indian-Anglo girl (Parminder Nagra) who idolizes star soccer player David Beckham, which is contrary to her orthodox Sikh parents' conception of girlhood. Now Showing: Wynnsong 16

Chicago (PG-13)
The long-running musical hits the big screen in what some say is the best Broadway-to-film adaptation since Cabaret.
Now Showing: Downtown West, Cinemark's Tinseltown, Carmike 10, Farragut Towne Square

The Core (PG-13)
Scientists find out that the Earth's molten core is about to stop spinning, which would mean the total destruction of all life on the globe's surface. More scientists are recruited to descend into the Earth's core and detonate a nuclear bomb in a desperate attempt to keep the core spinning.

House of 1000 Corpses (R)
Techno-metal artist and first-time feature film director Rob Zombie scared Universal so bad with horror movie House that they refused to release it, so lil' Lion's Gate picked it up. It's loosely a remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, i.e., teenagers get lost in the middle of nowhere, end up in a house full of crazies, and all sorts of gross and macabre things befall them.
Now Showing: Carmike 10, Downtown West, Cinemark's Tinseltown

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (PG-13)
Kate Hudson is a women's magazine columnist who has ten days to write a column about all the things women do to drive men away. Now Showing: Wynnsong 16, Knoxville Center

The Hunted (R)
Tommy Lee Jones plays an FBI deep-woods tracker (do you get the feeling that FBI agents get lost in the woods pretty regularly?) who tracks a crazed assassin (Benicio Del Toro) in the—you guessed it—deep woods. The tension will, no doubt *yawn* never stop.

The further adventures of man-cub Mowgli and Baloo the Bear.
Now Showing: Movies 7

Kangaroo Jack (PG)

Now Showing: Movies 7
