The 8th Annual Metro Pulse Readers' Poll
Thus Spake Knoxville

It's been another cruel April here in the Metro Pulse office, with our hired data-entry experts working their simian-like claws to the bone in a crazed effort to get the Best of Knoxville ballots tallied and tabulated—all under the watchful eyes of Jojo the Prize Monkey.

And what a tabula not-so-rasa it is: the 8th annual poll drew a record number of entries, even once we discounted the inevitable short-sheeters (you had to fill in at least 25 categories to count) and would-be cheaters (you know who you were—and so do we). The results are typically varied and fascinating, from old favorites to young turks to perennial runners up who've finally graduated to winners.

We're especially pleased at the number of locally-owned stores and restaurants that easily outpolled their corporate competitors. But there's room for the big boys (and Best Buys) too. So thanks for your votes, and c'mon down to our big party tonight. Tell 'em Jojo sent you.

Now, the envelopes please...
