Jill Tennant
For the past five years, Jill Tennant was everyone’s downtown sweetheart, the pretty blonde bartendress with the smile that just wouldn’t go away. Having worked downtown first as a server at Market Square’s Macleods, Tennant would eventually spend more than two years as perhaps the most recognizable face behind the bar at the nearby Preservation Pub (see Best Neighborhood Bar, Best Jukebox). A recent University of Tennessee graduate, Tennant moved on to a job in Washington, D.C. in early 2004. Her win in this year’s Best Bartender category proves that she will be sorely missed.
