"We had been on a foot patrol in downtown Mosul and walking in the back streets and alleys you see a lot of fairly depressing stuff. I saw this man sitting on the side of the street and his daughter (assumed) walks over and sits right next to him. It was like a beam of sunlight just changing the entire mood of the street."
