A look at Knoxville's diverse arts and culture scenes
What is art?
Nah, you're not going to catch us trying to answer that one. Not even if you narrow it to, "What is art in Knoxville?" Answers could range from Evil Twin spanking each other on stage to Travis Henry pirouetting on his way to the end zone. As Knoxville Symphony maestro Kirk Trevor notes in his conversation with Jack Neely, there's a lot going on in this townprobably more than you think. So to keep things simple in our "Arts and Culture" issue, we picked some representative examples from the spectrum of experiences available here.
Besides Trevor's thoughts on the state of the KSO and its place in the city, you get some musing on the muses behind the collaboration of renowned playwright Don Nigro and the adventurous Actors Co-Op, an exploration of film fare, and season schedules for our major local arts and culture institutions. Enjoy. As for Evil Twinwe'll get to them next year.
