Service Not an Issue

Les DuLunch really botched this one ["Take Two," Vol. 10, No. 22]. What's his/her problem? DiJon's is supposed to be a "Deli" type restaurant. This means that you pick up some of your order such as drinks, etc. We go on a regular basis to eat, drink, and be merry at DiJon's. Part of the attraction is people moving around, listening for "dinner time for 109," waiting for the train to go by, etc. If Les DuLunch wanted to be seated and waited on, then he/she should have gone to another restaurant. It is not fair to trash a place because you can't figure out how to order. As an example, if you go to Sam and Andy's out west you order from the counter, go pick up the beverage of your choice at another location, wait for your order to be called out, go pick it up, then get more drink, eat, then go pay. Not much different from DiJon's. I think he/she should have looked at the uniqueness of DiJon's and concentrated on the food. So far, everything we have gotten to eat has been very good. That's one of the reasons we go so much. Because they are not a "chain," sometimes it's not exactly as the last time. But overall quality is very consistent. I would really love to see if Les DuLunch could work as hard as Jon does.

Service Is An Issue

I just read—and appreciated—your review of DiJon's. It made me wonder if you've reviewed Panera's. I travel a lot, so I don't see every issue of Metro Pulse. If you haven't, I hope you will. It is even more irritating that DiJon's. The whole ordering process is tedious. It takes several trips before you can actually sit down and eat. If you want to heat a roll, the microwave is under the coffee pots. And, can you put the whole tray in the oven, or will it melt? The cheap little plastic knives can't cut a bun. You bump into people around the coffee pots. Someone is always looking for something. They should take a course in efficiency at Wendy's.

Chip, Meet Shoulder

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves once again. The restaurant review this issue is simply a personal attack against DiJon's. Again, an attack of that nature is written by a reporter who does not even have the guts to sign his/her name to the article, and that is pathetic. You cannot convince me that this was anything but a personal attack, because there are way too many restaurants in Knoxville that should be reviewed before you do two reviews on one restaurant in a year. I know too much about Knoxville for you to convince me of that. I know too much about your business practices for you to convince me either.

Who gives you guys the right to slam a hard-working couple? Dianne and Jon have tried their best to bring a good New York Italian restaurant to Knoxville. As any other place does, they have their struggles, then to read that pile of garbage in your rag, especially after Jon has spent $10,000 advertising with you guys over the last few years. But guess what, Metro Pulse won't get another red cent from them. I think what galls me the most is the fact that it is written by the pathetic name of Les DuLunch. It's amazing how a keyboard and an anonymous name makes big men out of small people.

I passed this review around to 10 of my clients, and the overwhelming response was... so typical. I knew you guys had a terrible reputation amongst the bar crowd, but I did not realize how bad. That's why you won't do reviews on some places, because people know you guys for what you are, Market Square Snobs. And that's why only a few nightclubs advertise with you guys, because you can't get it done right. There are a minimum of six errors in your calendar page. But again, what would you expect from Metro Pulse.

DiJon's has over 1,000 names on their VIP list, so you can expect a few more upset letters as well. And that's 1,000 people that will never read your publication again. But I will always, because someone needs to expose Metro Pulse as the biggest fraud in Knoxville.
