That theme question inspired a variety of responses in our call for entries for this special issueour first reader-written cover story (not to mention Gamut feature). We received scores of misty-eyed poems, a few snippy essays, several fond recollections, and even a number of photos. We selected the pieces we thought had something different to say, from authors who perhaps had a sense of humor about themselves and the city they live in. Thanks to all who took the time to write.
