There's probably a good reason why Knoxville has almost as many used car lots as it does drivers. It could be because such businesses are fading in other parts of the country and the fine salesmen who thrive on giving deals know they'll find takers here. Or it could be because folks hereabouts are just used to seeing clusters of cars left idle along the roadside. Mike Gibson test drives the local, low-mileage, late model, one-owner used car business to come up with some answers.

Her film Half Lives, which airs this week in Knoxville, is her own impressive and balanced effort to bypass gridlocked government channels of information and get the straight dope to the people, as Chris Barrett relates.
